Monday Card Week 18/’on the windy side of care’

Monday Card Week 18
It’s been ages since I joined in with the weekly card challenge that Natty provides on a Monday.
I had a nice hour between dinner and walking the hounds; playing with new paper from Ruby Rock-it (a brand which is new to me).

The challenge this week was the prompt ‘translucent or transparent’, so I teamed the papers with some vellum die-cut into a pocket and a mini rosette (Tim Holtz) along with a paper rosette cut from the same range. Vellum rosettes are hard, especially as they don’t love glossy accents! Silicone glue was the thing in the end….
It is unusual for me to do anything on a Monday night Smile well apart from slump in front of Scott & Bailey.
I wanted to thank everyone for the very kind comments made in light of my loss, they were all very much appreciated. I hope you will continue to pop by and see what is going on here.
I leave you with some loveliness from Mr William Shakespeare, as I am sure you know it was his birthday and also the anniversary of his death last week. I wish I knew more about him, so I will get on and do that.
Much Ado About Nothing was a favourite that I studied at school and I loved the Kenneth Branagh/Emma Thompson film version, although I was easily distracted by Denzel Washington in leather trousers Open-mouthed smile
on the windy side’ (apt for today’s weather I think!)
Claudio:
[to Hero] Lady, as you are mine, I am yours; I give away
myself for you and dote upon the exchange.
Beatrice:
Speak, cousin, or (if you cannot) stop his mouth with a kiss,
and let not him speak neither.
Don Pedro:
In faith, lady, you have a merry heart.
Beatrice:
Yea, my lord, I thank it, poor fool, it keeps on the windy
side of care.

Sunday 22 April 2012

Well it has been a little while.......

......but very sadly, on top of losing my dad last year, my brother has died too. We are doing well and we will come through but quite raw at the moment.
I know some of you have still kindly been visiting to see if there is anything new here. To all of you many thanks for not deleting me and I'll be back sometime in the next week or two.
