Playtime!: Creative Craft World January Scrapmap.

So, last time I wondered what lovely things 2013 would bring and...drum roll please...Ta-Dah! A lovely email from Lou at Creative Craft World to let me know I had been chosen to join their Design Team. I am so thrilled and nervous in equal measures.

The first saturday of each month is time for the monthly Scrapmap. There is a great sketch to follow and if you join in you have the chance to win a guest spot on the design team.
You can find the challenge here on the blog.

Well this photo is old, ugh, I know this as those boys barely fit on my lap, well Louis certainly doesn't. The little dookie in his play gym can just about fit.
I also know this as I would never take a photo where the subject wasn't actually in the main part of the photo ;)
This was a normal day in our house at the weekend. To gain myself some chore time I would bring out the big guns. The baby-gym and the bucket of train and track.

It would gain me an hour as Louis built and played with the track. He would build an '8' with two bridges and then set off the motorised trains Thomas (of course) and James around it. Well his eyes would grow an inch or two and he would leap from one part of the track to another, one minute on his toes with his hands on his knees, the next on his tummy, eye-balling the train as it choo-chooed towards him.

Ali would have had his 10am feed and would be just changed and ready for a bat at the gym. At this point he could grasp the giraffe with the extending vibrating neck and would be transfixed by trying to repeat that and watching it wibble-wobble back. After 20 minutes he would be spark-o and we would put the blanket over him.
What a great sketch, I had fun scrapping an old photo.
I used my Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page punch to get the starry negative effect and used the 'confetti' to make the embellishment.

Thanks again to the Creative Craft World team =) Oh, and now i'm one of them.

Cross-eyed/Creative Craft World Challenge May

CCW
I was delighted to be asked by Lou to join the DT for Creative Craft World as a guest for May as part of my prize for winning the challenge for April. I designed this layout based on the scrapmap. You can see the scrapmap below.
When Ali turned 5 we had a very interesting afternoon learning how to go cross-eyed. He nailed it, the photo doesn’t capture it as he looked away just as I snapped, but he got it. He had to use the trick of watching your own finger coming at you but he got it Smile

I used the lovely kit that Lou sent me as the prize for winning, I have made this layout and two cards so far, I have plans for a minibook with the remainder and there will be easily enough to make another card or two with some card blanks from my stash.
I also used a fab felt button that Susi (from the regular DT) makes on one of the rosettes. They are available from Lou at Creative Craft World here.
Thanks Lou.
Thanks Ali, good days.
The Scrapmap for May. I can’t wait to see them Smile

I had such a nice day/Creative Craft World Challenge

I had such a nice day in London with my boys in 2005. Louis was 4 and a half and Ali was a half.

What a supreme building that is. I am not quite sure what goes on there nowadays to engage the public in it’s pursuit of the common good. But that is a whole other thing.
Louis tried to crawl up the side of the pod to see better, and my heart was just freaking at the space beneath him.

Ali decided that it was bottle time so I spent the whole time feeding him Smile

And having a red ponytail apparently. Actually, i’m just glad there wasn’t toast in it which is how I spent many days with my small boys.
I had such a nice day at the retreat in March this year making this layout. I was with my best friends that have seen me through the hardest time in my life. We laughed and laughed and talked and talked and scrapped and scrapped.

I had such a nice day winning the March challenge with this layout over at the great Creative Craft World. I was lucky enough to be asked to guest design for May as part of my prize which I will post tomorrow as the challenge goes live.
I have so many nice days Smile

Team Leader Sue

Sue invited me into the Bijoux Belles social group over at UK Scrappers, she was so lovely, gracious and open when she invited me that I felt straight at home.
This is how I choose to add her to the Hall Of Fame!
Super Sue
5 things I love about Sue
1. Her calm and diplomatic manner which is twinned with a naughty, funny and precise point of view.
2. She knows just when you need something extra, whether it is an extra hug, email, ‘shout out’ on the thread or a parcel.
3. She links up the things that she finds interesting which give me lots of diverting pleasures.
4. Her crafting is superb and she puts so much work into it, the detail is extraordinary and no part of her layouts are left ‘untouched’.
5. She is so supportive of the family unit, whether it is her relatives or friends in whatever shape or form (online or next door), she is interested, involved and ‘in there’.

This entire layout is made with patterned paper that Sue gave me recently to cheer me up and some spotty ribbon that she sent at christmas.
I have used the Saturday Scrap Map Challenge over at Creative Craft World, which Sue designs for, thanks for the sketch Lou.

So this is for you Sue.
